The social care homes of the Department of Social Services in Sharjah organized a package of programs and events for their affiliates of various groups within its community program during the days of Eid Al-Adha, which included visits, community programs and recreational trips, with the aim of integrating them into society and achieving prosperity and happiness for these groups, in order to achieve the department’s policy Aiming to integrate different age groups into community events and activities. In her statement; Maryam Al-Qatari, Executive Director of Social Welfare and Protection Affairs, said: The Department of Social Services seeks, through its various departments in social care homes, to organize these events with the aim of introducing a spirit of joy in the hearts of the various age groups affiliated with it, which were represented in the elderly affiliated with the nursing home, children affiliated with the children’s care home, as well as women affiliated with the Women’s Protection Center; Wahat Al-Rushd affiliates; This comes as an activation of community participation, and consolidation of the importance of social solidarity among community members. and ensuring the well-being of these groups and achieving their happiness, in addition to the fact that these programs contribute to achieving the initiatives of the Emirate of Sharjah as an age-friendly city. The activities that began with the preceding Eid al-Adha included a religious lecture on the virtue of “Arafah Day” and the virtue of this day and its spiritual and moral characteristics for the individual, while the Eid programs included a group going to the Eid prayer, children visiting the fathers and mothers residing in the house, receiving guests from external parties, and distributing The Eid was given to children by the elderly in a family atmosphere that ensures the elderly enjoy the community event. The elderly members of the house also paid a group visit to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, when His Highness received well-wishers during the Eid. As for the children of the Safety Home, they were taken to the nursing home to greet the elderly in the home, as well as take them to Sahara Mall - Sharjah, and Mamzar Park - Dubai to entertain them in children’s games, as these programs will greatly contribute to instilling happiness in them and relieving them with various community programs.
