The Financial Resources Department of the Department of Social Services in Sharjah organized the first annual financial excellence meeting 2024, at the Centro Hotel in Sharjah, targeting 20 male and female accountants and financial employees in social homes, branches and departments. According to Fatima Abdel Karim, Director of the Financial Resources Department, the aim of the meeting is to introduce the administration’s services, disseminate knowledge, communicate with departments concerned with financial affairs, and present new programs related to private accounts that will begin digital transformation. The employees who contributed to the success of the accounts program were also honored. Fatima Abdel Karim stated that the tasks and objectives of the financial resources department in the department are to work on planning and evaluating the department’s financial performance, enabling it to know its financial position, aspects of spending, and sources of funding, and working to secure the department’s material needs and manage its property. She stressed that the first meeting stems from the department’s vision that financial resources must be sustainable and have innovative and advanced performance in managing public money. The need to make optimal use of available resources, develop them, preserve their properties, and work to provide financial facilities that support pivotal activities and programs and overcome all financial difficulties in order to achieve the goals and competencies of the department. The Director of the Financial Resources Department reviewed the departments affiliated with the department, the first of which is the Financial Planning Department, which includes the Budget Division and the Revenue Development Division, and the Accounts Department, which includes the Government Expenditures Division, the Affiliate Funds Division, and the Donations Account Division. The third section is the Purchasing Department, which includes the Assets and Property Division and the Contracts and Purchasing Division. At the conclusion of the meeting, employees who contributed to the success of the accounting program were honored. The meeting also included competitions and puzzles.
