Within the framework of efforts to enhance cooperation between the government and volunteer sectors, the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, affiliated with the Department of Social Services and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement aims to enhance coordination mechanisms and continuous cooperation in various aspects of volunteer work with the aim of achieving common goals between the two parties. The agreement was signed by Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department in the Social Services Department, on behalf of the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, while on behalf of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, it was signed by Afra Saif Al Shaer, Director of the Council’s Administrative and Financial Affairs Department. The agreement includes several areas to enhance cooperation between the two parties, including developing joint volunteer programs, organizing events and workshops aimed at supporting families and enhancing awareness of the importance of social values. The Department, as a first party, is committed to presenting the agenda of volunteer opportunities and initiatives and providing the opportunity to announce volunteer opportunities through the Sharjah Volunteering Platform, providing the Council with a guide to volunteer work, and supporting it in initiatives and events. While the Council develops volunteer opportunities, requests volunteers, organizes their participation and appreciates their efforts, and educates community members about the importance of the Council’s role, the department is also committed to inviting the Council to attend to participate in volunteer forums and events, and training volunteer cadres to enable them to participate in community service, in addition to supporting the Council with data and statistics about volunteer work. As for the obligations of the second party, the Supreme Family Council: By offering and managing volunteer opportunities and initiatives in accordance with the guidelines, requesting volunteers, their number, and determining their tasks, in addition to inviting working or affiliated employees to register as volunteers on the Sharjah Volunteer Work Platform, in addition to activating the Volunteer Work Charter as an awareness and commitment reference. The Council is also committed to nominating a representative to be a member of the Voluntary Work Association. In addition to providing the needs of volunteer activity, appreciating volunteers, and organizing volunteer participation according to the skills required to enhance social responsibility. Hessa Al Hammadi appreciated the partnership with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, stressing that the partnership coincides with the goals of the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work in promoting volunteer work and community service, noting that both parties are keen on effective joint cooperation in order to achieve common goals.
