The Department of Social Services in Sharjah, represented by the Health Services Office, and in cooperation with the Society of Friends of Arthritis Patients at the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, organized a health event under the slogan “Hand in Hand.” The event, which was held at the Department of Social Services, included conducting comprehensive vital examinations for osteoporosis and bone density examination for participants from the department’s employees and beneficiaries. The initiative also included providing an awareness and guidance lecture and distributing awareness brochures about arthritis, with the aim of spreading awareness and knowledge about this disease and how to deal with it. . On this occasion, Fatima Dawoud Al-Mazmi, Director of the Health Services Office, stated that this initiative, which was organized by the department in cooperation with its partners, aims to increase awareness about arthritis and provide moral support for this common disease, especially since many societal groups do not have sufficient background or Its high culture. She pointed out that this initiative is an important step towards spreading awareness among society about the importance of early detection of arthritis and the necessity of taking care of bone health and preventing this disease, which can be dealt with effectively if it is detected early. She appreciated the efforts of the Health Education Department and its tireless efforts to preserve the health of society through a number of initiatives it is implementing at the Sharjah level.
