The Sharjah Volunteer Work Center, affiliated with the Department of Social Services, participated in the activities of the “Sharjah Volunteer Exhibition in its sixth edition,” organized by the Sharjah Volunteer Work Award on the campus of the University of Sharjah, during the period from 01 to 02 of November of this year. The exhibition attracted various institutions and actors in volunteer work, in addition to volunteer teams, in order to showcase their volunteer work, initiatives, and volunteer opportunities during a period extending for two days. Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department, said that the goal of the department’s participation in this exhibition is to attract the largest number of volunteers and register them via the electronic platform to become active volunteers, especially the group of students who are considered the knights of volunteering in the near future, which requires us to motivate them more to do volunteer work. And enhance their awareness. The center also presents the work of the electronic platform and its advantages, and how to manage the affairs of volunteers and their membership of the center in a professional manner. The volunteer opportunities offered by various government agencies and volunteer teams are also presented, in addition to displaying the Center’s other services, such as the “Professional Volunteer” program, which the Center launched to qualify 6 volunteers by training, qualifying, and refining their skills through training programs and workshops that qualify them to carry out volunteer work.
