The Department of Social Services concluded its participation in the "Sharjah Volunteer Work Fair" organized by the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work over a period of three days, at the Female Student Center at the Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Sharjah, in which 23 governmental, civil and private institutions and volunteer teams participated, during which they presented their volunteer work, initiatives and volunteer opportunities It targeted university students and everyone who has an interest in volunteer work among members of the community, with the aim of spreading the culture of volunteer work and facilitating the process of joining volunteer work. The Social Services Department’s corner participating in the exhibition attracted about 165 registered volunteers in the various volunteer opportunities presented by the department’s volunteer center. Through its participation, the department aimed to attract volunteers, especially students, in order to encourage and motivate them to do volunteer work and join the department’s volunteer activities. Seven volunteer opportunities throughout the year 2018, noting that the exhibition witnessed the participation of 23 governmental, private, and civil institutions and volunteer teams, and the number of government institutions reached about 12 institutions, while the participation of 8 private institutions, 2 volunteer teams, and the participation of one private institution, in addition to the participation of a group of Athletes interested in volunteering. While the total number of visitors that the exhibition attracted reached about 1476 volunteers, who registered at the exhibition as volunteers with various institutions, to register for the 86 volunteer opportunities presented by the various participating parties.
