The Department of Social Services is participating in the activities of the 11th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, from April 17-27, at the Sharjah Expo Center, under the slogan "Explore Knowledge". Maryam Ibrahim Al Qusayr, Director of the Department of Social Education in the Department said: The department's participation in the festival came through 3 innovative activities, which were represented in throwing and learning, which is a competition related to the dice ball and numbers and includes awareness and educational questions for children and includes several competitions, including: the awareness program, how to say no to those who harm you, my rights game, cultural competitions, and some good moral values ​​that Children should have them (great reverence, tolerance, honesty, happiness, national identity, righteousness to parents, loyalty and belonging, honesty, order). She added: The department also participates in the festival by allocating a corner for children under the name (The Young Educator Oasis), in which children are presented educational programs for their colleagues, in addition to allocating a corner for parents under the name (family planning) in which the social educator is explained to the guardian in relation to "My Family Document" which helps family members to preserve the basic values ​​that every family must adhere to and teach to all its members, which contribute to building an informed and dependent generation, and which aims to strengthen the religious aspect of family members and strengthen family cohesion. The family by raising capabilities and capabilities and optimal use of income and instilling positive values ​​in the family and enabling it to plan for the future. Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Mail, Director of the Department of Governmental Communication at the department, said that the department, as a government agency entrusted with the tasks of social services, is keen to participate in all national events, including exhibitions and community festivals, and from this standpoint the department participated in the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival with a pavilion in which it displays its activities to the public, especially with regard to Children's programs, and that the department's participation in this festival is one of the ways to deliver awareness and education to children through entertaining programs, competitions and games to inform children of their rights that any child should enjoy without discrimination.
