The Women's Protection Center of the Department of Social Services in Sharjah organized a celebration on the occasion of International Women's Day which falls on March 8 of each year, in cooperation with the Department of Suburban and Village Affairs, based on the national strategy for women adopted by the state and directed by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation to empower women according to specific plans and clear goals for the present and the future, and this was reflected in the tremendous successes that women have achieved in many fields of work. This celebration was organized in recognition and honor of women and their effective role and contributions in all fields through a set of activities and programs concerned with recreational and health aspects that target women presented by children from both the American Perfection School and the Early Creativity Nursery. Maryam Ismail, Director of the Center for Women’s Protection, honored two former members of the Center for their community and family success, as they increased their efficiency and honed their skills with the opportunities and tools needed to go through the community life with confidence and high efficiency. Maryam Ismail explained that the center seeks to help battered women by providing places to harbor them and provide integrated social, psychological and legal care to them through various programs for rehabilitation and reintegration into society, pointing out that preserving and protecting women's rights, lifting violence on them and enhancing their health and psychological integrity, ensures that they fulfill their role Community and family effectively.
