Afaf Al-Marri confirmed that this law complements a series of protection legislation in the Emirate of Sharjah, as the department has been authorized since 1985 to take care of children of unknown parentage, so that the law was amended in 2006 to include the categories of children who are abused as well, while this law comes with additional tasks that include all Categories of lack of social care of unknown parents, born to a known mother and his lineage to his father is not legally proven, deprived of the presence of the breadwinner or caregiver, deprived of care of the breadwinner or caregiver, and the abused or abused or anyone who suffers the loss of social care. She added that the department works to secure the protection of the rights of these groups, in accordance with its vision that seeks to advance a society enjoying luxury, security, family stability and social inclusion, so that the department undertakes a number of tasks according to the law; Most notably, receiving cases of people without social care, supervising the role of social care, preparing rehabilitation programs and enabling the natural families most vulnerable to the emergence of those who lack social care, and receiving incubation requests submitted by families wishing to embrace children without care, in addition to the role of the department in guarding those who are incapacitated or incomplete or The missing or absentees if there is no one from their natural families to undertake this, in addition to guardianship of minors from among the citizens of the state residing in the Emirate of Sharjah, in addition to other tasks entrusted to it, such as visits, field follow-up, administrative sanctions, and community awareness.
