In the context of pride in the maritime heritage and support of the local community, the Department of Social Services, represented by its branch in Dibba Al Hisn, concluded its participation in the tenth edition of the activities of the Salty and Marine Fishing Festival, which was recently organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Municipality of Dibba Al Hisn, and the Municipal Council of the city of Dibba Al Hisn. The participation of the Department of Social Services was characterized by the involvement of productive families from members of the department’s production center, where they participated in displaying their products in this community event, which received a large turnout from the public who came to enjoy the heritage events and recreational activities. This turnout contributed to achieving a significant increase in the sales of the productive families with their Participating in the popular cooking corner and preparing delicious popular dishes at the festival. The festival also witnessed the participation of senior citizens who benefit from the department’s services, such as members of social care and home care homes. The participation of senior citizens aims to enhance the social integration of this group by providing them with an opportunity to enjoy various shows and traditional activities related to the sea, fishing, shipbuilding methods, and fishing tools. And learning about the maritime heritage and traditional works practiced by fathers and grandfathers. The department was responsible for providing means of transportation from homes to the festival, in addition to taking care of senior citizens and returning them to their homes after the end of the event throughout the days of the festival, which lasted four days from August 31 to September 3, 2023. Abdullah Muhammad Subayan, director of the department’s branch in Dibba, praised Al-Hosn stressed the importance of the festival and its heritage, cultural and economic impact in the city of Dibba Al-Hisn, stressing the department’s constant endeavor to integrate with various government agencies in order to serve the community.
