The Department of Social Services, Maliha Branch, implemented many activities during the month of August, covering all social segments, from children to the elderly to people with disabilities. Many governmental and private institutions in the region also interacted with these programs. Dr. Abdullah bin Hamouda Al Ketbi, Director of the Department’s branch in Mleiha, said: It started with the volunteer opportunity entitled “Mahasin Al-Barr,” which is a communication program between the elderly and the youth group, where participants in the Mobaderoon 6 program sat with the elderly and socialized with them. Maliha Social Society also implemented the volunteer opportunity “Quench Your Thirst” by distributing cold water to the working group, and organized an entertainment program for Al Asala Club members with a visit to the “Qayd Al Dhaid” exhibition at Al Dhaid Wildlife Center. On the other hand, a group of participants participated in the Mobaderoon Youth Program. 6 in an art workshop on “the art of colored ink collage,” in cooperation with Al Madam Arts Center. Al-Ketbi added that services were provided to people with special needs to ensure a decent living for them, and the volunteer opportunity “Little Chef” was provided within the Hassad 25 camp at the Dhaid Women’s Club. Volunteers also participated in the “Houses of the Most Merciful” volunteer opportunity, to perfume and clean mosques, in addition to the “Plant for Life” volunteer opportunity. A breakfast was also organized for people with special needs at the Al-Asala Club, and finally, Al-Hamriyah Social Affairs organized the closing ceremony of the 25th Hassad Volunteer Camp.
