Based on the active role in contributing to community service; A cooperation agreement was signed between the Department of Social Services in Sharjah and the Union Water and Electricity Company to provide direct support to citizens with limited incomes to combat inflation and improve the standard of living. The agreement aims to provide social support for beneficiaries of social assistance at the Department of Social Services who meet the eligibility conditions and controls. This agreement allows citizens who meet the conditions to benefit from electricity and water subsidies within the inflation allowance. The amount of the monthly subsidy will be determined based on their actual consumption in accordance with the provisions agreed upon, and not exceeding an amount of 400 dirhams per month of the value of electricity and water consumption. The agreement comes within the framework of the department's efforts and its integration with the "Union Electricity and Water Company" to improve the quality of life for citizens who are beneficiaries of social assistance and support them in light of the current economic challenges and confront inflation and in order to raise the standard of living for the individual in society to achieve well-being and a decent life for all members of society with limited income. According to the agreement, the department provides the approved lists of beneficiaries, updates them monthly, and provides them to the Union Water and Electricity Company, with the necessary information to implement the support operations, in addition to providing the support account due to each beneficiary within the monthly bills. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Department of Social Services, His Excellency Afaf Al Marri, Head of the Department, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, and on behalf of the Union Water and Electricity Company, Sheikha Murad Al Balushi, Acting CEO of the company, in the presence of a number of leaders from both sides.
