The Licensing Committee for Social Professionals in Sharjah held its eighth meeting to discuss the details of the terms of reference for social professions, in addition to discussing the conditions and standards of social professionals, with a view to legalizing this profession and organizing its mechanisms and developing its details, according to Decree No. (17) for the year 2018AD issued by the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah; Regulating the social professions in the emirate. This came during its periodic meeting, in the presence of its members in charge of deciding the license for social professionals, consisting of 6 members with competence and professional experience in the social field, as the license for social professionals working in social work was formed by a decision of the Executive Council No. (4) of 2019. Kholoud Al Nuaimi, Director of the Social Licensing Department, stressed that the importance of this meeting comes in setting the details of the professions' specializations and standards in line with the development of the fields of social professions; which requires us to keep pace with this development and embody it on the ground to keep pace with the Emirate of Sharjah’s approach to providing social services. And based on the vision of the Department of Social Services towards a society that enjoys luxury, security, family stability and social containment, and upgrading the level of community services provided to individuals in accordance with best practices, the committee has developed details and requirements for social professions and work is being studied and approved, and will be announced soon to the public. The Director of the Social Licensing Department stated that the project for licensing the practice of social professions aims to organize the services of social professions through licensing the social sector and upgrading it to advanced levels of quality and safety, in a manner that guarantees the protection of individuals as well as the public interest of the community, in addition to monitoring the level of quality of the service provided and ensuring The presence of well-qualified professionals to deal with various social situations, which will reinforce the customer's feeling of reassurance that he is in safe professional hands; fully qualified to provide social services in accordance with the best standards and practices.
