The Department of Social Services in Sharjah, represented by the Department of Social Education, participates in the activities of the Sharjah Festival for Culture and People in its sixth session, which is organized by the Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, under the generous patronage of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Council, for a period of Bridges of culture between the institution and the people, and to transfer programs from closed halls and rooms to an open arena frequented by members of society; The festival will be held in Al Qarain Park 2 in Sharjah, and its activities will start from the 23rd to the 26th of February. Maitha Awad Al Ketbi, Head of the Awareness Department at the Social Education Department, explained that the festival is an occasion to spread awareness among all members of society, and our goal is to leave a good impact on the hearts of children and provide them with a lot of knowledge and information that helps them lead their lives normally, and mitigate the negative effects that they cause. The electronic devices they use for long hours that harm their minds and their personalities. Al-Ketbi indicated that the number of programs that will be presented over a period of four days is varied, and their number reaches 10-15 programs and activities per day, and they vary between workshops, competitions, and intellectual and sports games, all of which include information or a lesson in life. The program also includes a workshop on "How to Say No to Those Who Hurt You" by drawing the appropriate logo and appropriate colors, a program on national identity, values, customs and others, such as crafts, and a workshop on happiness with handicrafts. The titles include digital safety, thinking outside the box, creativity, my right to play, goodness, respect, favor, customs and traditions, cyberbullying, happiness, national identity and others, in addition to the participation of the young storyteller and the great storyteller. She added, "We have prepared a program for parents that includes educational instructions in various social fields, for example, how to educate the child about external danger." And he followed by saying that there will be gifts that will be distributed during the festival, most of which are educational games that are beneficial to children, in addition to the participation of senior citizens and the Al-Asala Club, who will present workshops for children based on our customs and traditions.
