Based on the decision issued by the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, No. (23) for the year 2022 AD regarding regulating the work of social activities providers in the emirate, by monitoring establishments providing social activities in the emirate, as it is prohibited for any establishment, institution or company to operate on a profit or non-profit basis Profitable is the provision of social activities or the opening of any branch in the emirate, except after obtaining a permit from the department. This is in accordance with the tasks of the department through the Social Work Licensing and Development Department, which works to organize and license all services provided in the social sector by individuals and institutions with the aim of raising the quality of social services in the Emirate of Sharjah. Kholoud Al Nuaimi, Director of the Social Work Licensing and Development Department, points out that this decision complemented Executive Council Resolution No. (17) of 2018 regarding the regulation of social professions in the Emirate of Sharjah, by controlling the quality of services provided and working to protect the rights of practitioners and ensure the rights of beneficiaries to obtain the best services. Social and promoting and emphasizing the importance of the values ​​of community partnership to build complementarity in social roles in performance, and according to the decision, the department grants permits for social activities related to day care activities, accommodation, home care, counseling, training, education, rehabilitation, diagnosis and evaluation identified by the decision. Launching the website and following up by saying, at the beginning of the year 2023, the website was launched to obtain a permit to practice social activities in the emirate through the website of the department, through community service services for establishments, submitting a request for a permit for social activities that requires and completing the operational requirements for the activity, and fulfilling them to obtain a permit to practice Social activities. The decision provides a period for establishments that provide existing social activities in the emirate to adjust their status within a period not exceeding 6 months, in accordance with its provisions, to obtain a permit to provide activities. With the aim of providing high quality services in the field of social care and developing services according to specific standards in the emirate. The Director of the Licensing Department adds that the decision came in line with the department's mission to raise the level of society and enjoy well-being, security, family stability and social inclusion in accordance with best social practices in line with the goals of sustainable development. The department looks forward through its mission; To provide curative, preventive and developmental social services in the field of guarantee, care, protection and rehabilitation for individuals, families and groups with special social conditions and to study social problems to find solutions and support decision-making as a contribution to the process of sustainable development of the society of the Emirate of Sharjah. The tasks of the administration Al-Nuaimi adds, by saying, the work of the Social Work Licensing and Development Department lies in issuing a permit to operate a facility to practice social activities in the emirate, after ensuring that it meets the conditions and controls approved by the department in this regard, in coordination with the licensing authority, and the social activities that are practiced are supervised. The establishments monitor their compliance with the provisions of this resolution and the decisions issued pursuant to it. They also receive complaints against establishments, investigate them, and take the necessary measures against those who violate the provisions of this resolution and the decisions issued pursuant to it.
