The Department of Social Services, represented by the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, participated in the activities of the (fourth) Volunteer Work Forum under the slogan "Sustainability of Volunteerism", which was organized by the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park. The department's participation included a presentation of the technical experiences of the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, which was presented by Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion in the department, entitled: The Impact of Technical Assets in the Sharjah Center for Volunteer Work on Sustaining Volunteering, which is a banking technical program for saving volunteer hours and recording data to ensure ease and flexibility of providing them. Which facilitates the process of obtaining information, documents and volunteer hours completed, as well as the possibility of obtaining volunteer certificates and various data needed by the volunteer himself through his control panel, and the program provides information and data to researchers and educational institutions, as a reliable and accurate source of information to enrich scientific research in various fields Volunteering, in addition to providing electronic materials, guidance and guides that serve institutions and individuals. The program also contributes to the measures of economic abundance by giving accurate and clear data to institutions and a method for calculating them, especially since government institutions benefit from this economic abundance in enhancing their community services, in addition to strengthening coordination between the bidding agencies and volunteer teams and the ease of communication with the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, which makes Gives an impact to society and its institutions. The Director of the Community Cohesion Department stated that this technical program is one of the goals of the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work in keeping pace with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah and its leadership in volunteer work, embodying the culture of volunteer work and its development, promoting diversity and innovation in the volunteer program and building social ties between members of society through the speed of registration and access. to volunteer opportunities, search for and manage them, and obtain accurate information. The achieved impact, as Al-Hammadi touched on; to the results achieved; Which was represented in the increase in the number of volunteers compared to the previous year; As the number of volunteers in the year 2022 reached about 23226 volunteers, compared to the year 2021, in which the number of volunteers was about 8644, and in terms of volunteer hours, it amounted to about 509100 volunteer hours during the two years -2021-2022 AD, while the number of volunteer hours during the past two years was 2019- 2020 about 124484 volunteer hours. The activities of the forum included three discussion sessions. The first session was entitled "The Role of Policies in Sustaining Volunteering". The second session was; It is entitled "The Role of Educational Institutions in Sustaining Volunteering and Raising Children to Volunteerism." In the third session, it was titled "Studies and Research in Sustaining Volunteering." Note that the forum included the participation of many entities represented by: Watani Al Emarat Foundation, the Ministry of Community Development, the Sharjah Education Council, the Emirates Foundation for School Education, and the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, in addition to researchers and experts who had a great impact in enriching the forum.
