The Department of Social Services in Sharjah signed an agreement of understanding with Horizon University College. The agreement was signed by Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Social Cohesion Department in Sharjah, and Dr. Mohamed Hassan Nairat, President of the College. This agreement comes to expand the scope of volunteer work in Sharjah between the two parties and to allow the students of Horizon University College to contribute and participate in the volunteer opportunities offered by the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work of the Department of Social Services, through its smart platform. The two sides agreed that the department should display the agenda of volunteer opportunities and initiatives and opportunity announcements through the platform and social networking sites, in addition to cooperating in spreading the culture of volunteering in society through joint programmes, highlighting the volunteers registered in the platform in the media when they participate in opportunities and initiatives and giving priority to college students in enrollment. For volunteer opportunities and initiatives published on the platform. It was also agreed that Horizon University College would join as an effective institution in the Sharjah platform for volunteer work, and invite its academic and student staff to register as new volunteers in the Sharjah platform for volunteer work, as well as activate the role of male and female students in the field of volunteer work by implementing volunteer hours for male and female students through the platform. And highlighting the role of the university in activating voluntary work at the level of higher education in the emirate.
