In her speech, Hessa Al-Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department in the department, said that the second volunteer forum comes this year to introduce community members and institutions about the investment returns resulting from volunteer efforts, by reviewing effective experiences, facts and contributions. Al-Hammadi congratulated our beloved country and our wise leadership on the 51st anniversary of the founding of the Emirates, for our country to follow the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed, "may God have mercy on him", in progress, sophistication and prosperity, and for our beloved emirates to become among the first countries in various humanitarian and voluntary fields and community service, calling on governmental and federal institutions. In her speech, she reviewed a number of indicators achieved by the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work since the beginning of the current year 2022 and to this day, which are as follows: Establishing a broad base of volunteers, so that the number of people registered in the center reached 34093 volunteers, and about 1322 volunteer opportunities were implemented, during which they completed 633994 volunteer hours. Entities offering volunteer opportunities: 156 opportunities. Al-Hammadi also revealed the areas in which the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work contributed, which were as follows: 33.8% in the field of social solidarity, 29% in the field of serving the nation (organizing events), 7.2% in serving sports, and 6.1% in serving the environment. And 5.6% in health service, 4.5% in culture and heritage, 4.4% in disaster and crisis service, 3.1% in religion service, 3.1% in education service, and 1% in statistics and opinion poll service. It raises the levels of happiness in society. He noted that volunteer work enhances social responsibility and enhances security and safety in residential neighborhoods and others, and mentioned that the leadership launched the "Volunteer Guard" initiative, which is an invitation to the public to report any negative behaviors or phenomena that they see and tell us about. The impact of community participation in all activities raises the rates of happiness and quality of life. Aisha Al-Huwaidi, on the role of the Sharjah Charity Association, said that the association completed 30 years of its founding and provided assistance at the level of 110 countries on the level of continents, and from here we felt the need for volunteers to help us organize the pace of work and formed a team of volunteers within the association to urge employees to volunteer work, and indeed we registered during a crisis Corona 600 volunteer hours, and we always strive to encourage volunteer work. Fathia Al-Muaini, from the Higher College of Technology in Sharjah, said that the Higher Colleges of Technology in the country is one of the largest institutions of higher education that participates in volunteer opportunities at the level of the Emirates, as volunteers, as we work to enhance the role of the volunteer and find volunteer opportunities with volunteering agencies. This is in addition to the fact that there is a prerequisite for success, which is the completion of 100 volunteer hours throughout the academic period. The aim of this approach is to promote the concept of volunteering culture and participation in community events. Volunteering also gives students self-confidence and strength of character. In his intervention, Dr. Adel Abdullah of the Emirates Red Crescent said that the Crescent is part of this whole that serves the community, and the greater the number of volunteers in the community, the more we will succeed in our work and in our humanitarian mission. He pointed out that the value achieved by digital volunteering is that a fixed and specific code is created for each volunteer opportunity through which specialized volunteer opportunities are classified, and each volunteer has one code that he can access quickly, read his specialization and direct him according to this specialization. The second axis was titled "Towards a National Structure for Managing Individuals' Voluntary Investments", where Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Director of Knowledge Management at the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, reviewed the goals of the first Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, which is the first of its kind at the level of the country and the Arab world. And it was put forward by order of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Union, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, may God protect him, in order to support and encourage volunteer efforts in all its aspects without specification.
