The Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work in the Department of Social Services in Sharjah signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Sharjah, to activate and strengthen the principles of cooperation between the two parties, and to develop and serve the community and the progress and prosperity of the Emirate of Sharjah. The agreement, which was signed on Monday, November 21, at the University of Sharjah headquarters, stipulates the consolidation of the principles of joint cooperation in joint activities and projects and the inclusion of volunteer initiatives and opportunities within their approved activities, by presenting the agenda of opportunities, volunteer initiatives and opportunity announcements through the Sharjah platform for volunteer work and social media. (Instagram, Telegram, etc.) and holding semi-annual meetings. The terms of the agreement also provided for joint cooperation to produce a documentary film that displays the local and international knowledge experiences of opportunity bidders as the best local and international practices for volunteer work, cooperation in spreading the culture of volunteering in society through joint programs, and highlighting volunteers registered in the Sharjah Volunteering Platform in the media when they participate in opportunities and initiatives. According to the agreement, the University of Sharjah is committed to inviting the academic and student staff to register as new volunteers in the Sharjah platform for volunteer work, in addition to activating the role of male and female students in the field of volunteer work by implementing volunteer hours for male and female students through the Sharjah platform for volunteer work, as well as working to highlight the role of the university in activating Voluntary work at the level of higher education in the emirate. The Department of Social Services, represented by the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, provides a platform for student volunteering on campus in all university branches in the central and eastern regions to join the published volunteer opportunities and initiatives, as well as designing electronic awareness publications that explain the importance of volunteer work for students, in addition to the participation of students in forums. And special events to discuss future ideas for volunteering.
