345 children participated in the 19th activities of the Hassad Volunteer Camp, which was regularly organized by the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, and its constant slogan is "We Volunteer for Sharjah", as it targets children from 6 to 12 years old, during the period from 27-31 of this month-March - From ten in the morning until twelve noon, investing time, and by the way, Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion in the Department of Social Services, valued the 5 partners participating in this event, governmental and public agencies and various institutions, based on their belief in the importance of social responsibility and its reflection on the advancement of societies, Especially as it aims to invest the children's free time, particularly during the school holidays, to benefit them from volunteer work aimed at serving the community, and most importantly, to establish a new base of volunteers from this age group. Al Hammadi added: We have achieved a new number of participants, which has reached 345 children, while the door is still open for those wishing to register through the electronic platform of the Sharjah Volunteer Center. On the other hand, Sindia Abdel Rahman, Head of the Volunteering Department, explained the camp's activities program, which includes a series of activities and initiatives that are implemented during the 5-day camp period. She explained that children from different regions of the emirate were selected, and the activities were organized at the department’s headquarters in the Hamriya branch, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Khorfakkan, Al Madam, Al Bataeh, Dibba Al Hisn and Maliha. during camp days. The partners and the contributors provided a variety of activities, as the Sharjah Sports Council - and the sports clubs, organized a workshop on health benefits, through the implementation of volunteer opportunities entitled “My Health is in My Volunteering”, which teaches children how to have proper healthy nutrition to practice voluntary work in addition to training them in organizing sports matches competitiveness. The "Sajaya" Center provided a volunteer opportunity entitled "Do Good", during which the children made baked goods from loaves and pizza and distributed them to the working group at their work sites. The Family Development Centers of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs provided the voluntary opportunity, "My Seedlings", where children were taught to reforestation and plant seedlings in designated places. The Department of Islamic Affairs and the Department of Awqaf provided a voluntary opportunity, "Giving Without Borders", to implement the "giving" program in mosques, through a "perfume spray", and the children cleaned and perfumed mosques. The department also provided a second opportunity during the camp, which is "cooling" by distributing cold drinks. The Sharjah Charity Association provided the volunteer opportunity “Awn” by arranging and sorting Ramadan food, distributing juice and fruits from the association, in addition to the voluntary opportunity “My umbrellas” by distributing umbrellas and glasses for the working group. “Ittitawa” and presented a workshop on social intelligence, by babysitting people of determination and presenting an entertainment program for them.
