The Family Affairs Committee and the Health Affairs, Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the Consultative Council reviewed the safety services provided to the children of the home’s residents and the aspects of social, humanitarian and medical support provided to them, with the aim of preserving them within a healthy and safe social environment. The Punitive and Correctional Services of the Sharjah Police General Command, and Fatima Ismail Al Mazmi, Director of the Safety House of the Social Services Department, and a number of employees affiliated with the house. The programs provided for the care of the inmates’ children and preparing the home to embrace them in a family atmosphere and a healthy environment free of diseases, and explaining health care-related services, and other services such as electronic vision, and the service of securing the right of identification papers, in addition to providing entertainment and educational programs. The most prominent services provided by the Department of Social Services to the inmates of the penal and correctional institution were also presented, which is the service of caring for the families of prisoners and those outside the prison, by identifying their needs through studying the social situation to follow up on them and determining the services owed to the prisoner’s family such as social assistance, securing the needs of families and school follow-up for children in addition to providing rehabilitation programs To enable the prisoner to return to life safely and to be able to integrate him into society.
