The Elderly Services Center in the Department of Social Services in Sharjah reported vaccinating 9966 senior citizens and residents in the Emirate of Sharjah and its affiliated areas with the first, second and third doses of the Corona Virus (Covid_19) vaccine, noting that they were able to vaccinate 2035 people from the third booster dose, after launching Finally, the refresher dose, with the aim of ensuring the safety of senior citizens and residents with them. The Director of the Elderly Services Center in the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, Kholoud Al Ali, confirmed that 19 doses were vaccinated for 906 elderly citizens, people with disabilities and their families, represented by the first, second and third doses of the Corona Virus (Covid-9966) vaccine in Sharjah and its affiliated areas. Al Ali indicated that 19 people have been given the first, 9128, and 874 third doses since the department launched a community campaign last January in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, in support of the state's efforts to limit the spread of the virus, and the campaign targeted senior citizens and their families residing with them. She added that the department is still receiving requests for a booster dose, as 2035 teams from the elderly services center in Sharjah, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al-Hisn, Kalba, Al-Hamriyah, Al-Dhaid, Al-Madam, Al-Bataeh and Maliha are conducting home visits to these groups, which includes examining the case and measuring its vital indicators before giving the vaccine, while it continues. The work crews follow up on the situation around the clock to ensure its safety, stressing that the home vaccination service facilitates access to the groups most in need of the vaccine (senior citizens, people of determination, mental patients, and their families). Al Ali said, "The home care units to vaccinate senior citizens in their homes in all the emirate and its affiliated cities are working to enhance the health and safety of society, through several initiatives it has undertaken since the beginning of the pandemic, which guarantees the health and safety of senior citizens in light of the Corona pandemic through continuous cooperation with partners." In the forefront of which is the Sharjah Medical District, within the framework of ensuring the safety of society and in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide the best health and social care services for senior citizens to alleviate them and preserve their health and safety.
