The Higher Volunteering Committee in the Emirate of Sharjah, in coordination with the Sharjah Volunteer Center of the Department of Social Services, launched its strategic plan for the years 2021-2023. In line with the directions of the Government of Sharjah and its pioneering role in humanitarian work. The strategic plan is based on a vision that seeks to consolidate volunteer work and enhance Sharjah’s leadership in sustainable volunteer work through concerted efforts by offering complementary programs between volunteer work parties in line with its vision for 2030. Strategic objectives The strategic objectives of the plan were divided into three main axes, which are the “policies of It organizes the volunteering of Sharjah government employees" and the "organized volunteer initiatives that achieve efficiency and effectiveness and have a sustainable impact in the emirate" and the "Integrated Civil Efforts in Volunteering" axis. The three axes are based on six strategic goals; Where the first axis includes; two goals are; Updating the systems of volunteer work policies and guides, and promoting the culture of volunteer work in government institutions in the Emirate. The second axis included; Three goals, based on improving the quality of volunteer work, facilitating the introduction of volunteer opportunities, and highlighting successful volunteer work. As for the third and final topic; It is related to the mechanisms of promoting volunteer work efforts in the Emirate. A road map for volunteering The Higher Committee for Volunteering confirmed that the strategic plan for the years 2021-2023 that was developed in coordination and partnership with the Sharjah Volunteer Center; It came to form a road map for volunteer work and to enhance its role in the Emirate of Sharjah, by setting plans and goals in line with the directions of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, Chairman of the Executive Council; To make volunteering a comprehensive sustainable community and institutional culture with social and social responsibility. The committee pointed out that it is working in integration with all relevant authorities, partners, and federal authorities in order to sustain volunteer work and enhance its social and institutional benefits, noting that the most prominent results of volunteer work that were implemented during the first half of this year amounted to about 152 volunteer opportunities that were presented, with the participation of 2325 volunteers, with a total of 100174 volunteer hours.
