The changes imposed by the Corona pandemic were not limited to our daily and family and professional meetings, but also affect those who spend their sentence in penal and correctional facilities, but in this case the impact of the pandemic was positive, as the “Family Forum Center” of the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, in cooperation with The management of the Punitive and Correctional Institution at the General Command of Sharjah Police, to allow an inmate serving his prison sentence, in the presence and participation of his daughter, the joy of her marriage, through a “remote” electronic session that pleased the inmate and his family in this beautiful event. According to the testimony of Fayza Khabab, director of the Family Forum Center, the inmate expressed his desire to share his daughter at the moment of her marriage, because she feels that her guardian is by her side at this moment. Khabab followed, this came in light of the inmates' participation in weddings and occasions due to their sense of family bonding among them, which we are keen to provide for the inmates in order to relieve them of the psychological pressures that they may feel. Also, this initiative comes within the strategies of the Social Services Department, to maintain family cohesion even if the family's circumstances are difficult. Khabab stated that the Family Forum Center was the first to provide the "electronic vision" service in the country in 2017, and it started with children and then guests through the "Online" feature, where it received a lot of acceptance and welcome from the guests and their families, and provided them to meet and watch each other. Khabab said that the project receives about six inmates daily to communicate remotely with their families, bringing the total number to about 486 electronic visions since the beginning of this year and until June inside and outside the country; According to the statements received from the General Administration of the Punitive and Correctional Institution.
