The meeting dealt with; two sessions; first; Entitled: "Social Adaptation in the Child's Environment, which touched upon the role of parents and the family in dealing with the child's fears and overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as confronting the effects of poor social interaction and lack of social skills development during the period of distance from peers in the school environment. Adapting to the home and study environment under the pandemic, while the second session, entitled “Child’s Mental Health,” discussed the role of social institutions in providing psychological and social support to children and their families, as well as the role of the family and educational and social institutions in maintaining the child’s mental health. Strengthening the institutional and societal roles The forum aims; To define the roles of formal and informal institutions in providing psychological and social support to children during the Covid 19 pandemic, in addition to analyzing and monitoring the psychological and social effects of the pandemic on children. The psychological situation of the child, how to achieve his social adaptation and face the feeling of lack of social interaction and isolation during the pandemic Many partners participated in the forum; These are the Emirates Child Protection Society, the Emirates Foundation for Public Education, the Child Safety Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children. In-person, virtual and turn-based participation; Maha Mansour Al Ali, Director of the Government Communications Department in the department, said: The forum was organized on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, which falls on June 4 of each year, and the department decided to present the forum before its date, given that it coincides with the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, being the most event that attracts children and their families, which is an opportunity to achieve the desired goals of the festival, which The most important of which is the promotion of child protection and rights. It was decided to hold the forum in attendance at the festival, and at the same time virtually through direct transmission via (Zoom platform), in order to provide the opportunity to participate for the largest possible number of members of society, including children, parents, protection and childhood specialists, and workers in social and educational institutions concerned with children, at the level of the UAE.
