The Social Services Department in Sharjah, represented by the Volunteer Center, reviewed 30 volunteer opportunities during its participation in a platform and a corner in the effectiveness of the Zayed University Exhibition for Voluntary Work in its first session, with a view to displaying the volunteer opportunities available to university students and how to participate in those opportunities presented by the various parties participating in the exhibition in The university campus located in Dubai. The department aims to participate in this first exhibition of its kind organized by Zayed University to promote the values ​​of volunteer work for students and introduce them to the volunteer opportunities available, which embody the values ​​of tolerance and the spread of culture and values ​​of constructive giving. Faiza Khabab, director of the department's volunteer center, confirmed that the center offered 30 volunteer opportunities to be implemented during 2019, adding that the department seeks through this participation to attract the largest number of volunteers and volunteers from the student category to motivate them to do volunteer work. She stated that the department's corner received about 150 visitors from the exhibition, and it attracted new volunteers to register on the online platform in the various voluntary opportunities offered by the department's volunteer center. She explained that the total number of registered volunteers on the electronic circle platform reached about 1256 volunteers, and 9112 volunteer hours have been implemented so far, noting that the department's initiatives, including fixed and emergency, will include initiatives on (the Year of Tolerance) to symbolize this slogan called by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, that 2019 is the year of tolerance, and there are more initiatives that the department will launch in this regard according to its time.
