The Sharjah Social Services Department, represented by the Social Cohesion Department, signed a "Safety Network" agreement with the Emirates National Facilities Management Company, which aims to provide social support and solidarity with the department's beneficiaries as priority cases for social care, raise their standard of living, and improve their quality of life during urgent interventions, crises, and disasters. In addition to supporting the partnership efforts between the two parties to achieve community development in the Emirate of Sharjah and enhance and consolidate human values and charitable works in society. The "Safety Network" was launched by the Sharjah Social Services Department in 2019 to provide urgent support in humanitarian cases, crises, and disasters at the emirate level by concluding agreements with partners from various governmental or private entities or even with individuals wishing to contribute and provide assistance, which requires providing in-kind or financial contributions to beneficiaries from the low-income category registered with the department, as these are considered priority cases for social care, and it attracts partners from all sectors and specializations, which reflects positively on its beneficiaries to raise their standard of living and improve their quality of life. The agreement was signed by Kholoud Al Nuaimi, Director of the Community Service Sector at the Social Services Department, and Eng. Mohammed Abdul Karim Khamis, CEO of Emirates National Facilities Management Company. According to Al Nuaimi, the agreement stems from the two parties’ keenness to support and enhance social responsibility, and to achieve the concept of partnership between the government and private sectors with the aim of unifying efforts to serve the community in general and members of the Social Services Department in Sharjah in particular, in an effort to serve this needy segment of society during urgent interventions, crises and emergencies to improve the quality of life for residents in the emirate. For his part, Eng. Mohammed Khamis, CEO of Emirates Support Services Company, expressed his pride in signing the agreement with the Social Services Department, as it constitutes a cooperation strategy that adds a lot of responsibility towards community members and works to provide the well-being of society.
