Ajman University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sharjah Social Services Department, with the aim of enhancing cooperation, joint coordination and field training for students, in addition to cooperation in the fields of innovation and creativity, which will enhance social and community work. This cooperation stems from a shared vision aimed at achieving sustainable development and strengthening the bonds of social cooperation in a way that achieves the strategic goals of both parties, and their commitment to enhancing joint work that benefits individuals and society as a whole. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding took place at the headquarters of Ajman University, where it was signed on behalf of the Department of Social Services by Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of Knowledge Management at the Department, and Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, on behalf of the University Director, in the presence of a number of leaders from both parties. Field Training The Memorandum of Understanding includes several aspects of cooperation, as the agreement provides an opportunity for university students to obtain field training at the department in specializations compatible with its activity, as this training aims to provide students with knowledge and professional skills to become active in the labor market and qualified to bear societal responsibilities, provided that the training program includes a full semester. While Ajman University offers special discounts to employees of the Social Services Department on Continuing Education Center programs that comply with the university’s regulations, which encourages members of the department to develop their skills and benefit from available training opportunities. Research and Studies: Within the framework of the same memorandum, Ajman University cooperates with the Department of Social Services in preparing social research and studies, in addition to building capacities in the social field by creating specializations and programs that are not available, whether they are academic or professional programs, training courses, or scientific seminars. Innovation and Creativity In the field of innovation and creativity, the two parties cooperate through the Ajman University Innovation Center with the aim of achieving common goals at the local, regional and global levels. The cooperation includes the exchange of creative ideas between university students and department employees, and the organization of specialized workshops and courses to enhance knowledge. The two parties also cooperate in operating innovation laboratories and exchanging invitations for internal and external visits. Joint community events The agreement also stipulates the organization of joint community events and initiatives, as both parties are committed to participating in conferences, seminars and community activities organized by either of them, with prior coordination to ensure their implementation in a manner that reflects the joint commitment to serving the community. In addition, a joint working committee will be formed to supervise the implementation of the agreement’s provisions, hold periodic meetings to evaluate joint programs and initiatives, review best practices and develop future work plans. Enriching the community through joint cooperation On this occasion, Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Director of Knowledge Management at the Department of Social Services, stressed the importance of this partnership with Ajman University as it is one of the leading national educational institutions that contribute effectively to enriching the community with scientific research and purposeful social projects. Al Hammadi pointed out that this partnership represents an additional step towards consolidating social responsibility and social development for both parties, which reflects the values of cooperation and opens the way for exchanging experiences and knowledge and making the best use of available capabilities to achieve benefit for society and its individuals.
