Al Ali said that the forum comes as part of the Sharjah government’s efforts to support the elderly and its commitment to the “Sharjah, an Age-Friendly City” initiative, which seeks to create a sustainable environment that meets the needs of the elderly. Noting that it is an occasion where a group of experts in the fields of healthcare, technology and economics meet to discuss best practices and challenges related to providing comprehensive and advanced services for the elderly, as the Emirate of Sharjah is a leading model in providing integrated services for the elderly, and therefore this forum comes within the emirate's efforts to enhance its position in this field by discussing the latest trends supporting active and sustainable aging. The forum also reflects Sharjah's commitment to providing an integrated urban and social environment that enables the elderly to participate effectively in society, which is in line with the forum's objectives in enhancing the status of the elderly as a vital part of society.
