The Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah honored the Social Services Department in appreciation of its efforts in training college students within the "Kafa'at" program for practical field training. The honoring ceremony was attended by Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of Knowledge Management at the department and General Supervisor of the Kafa'at Program. Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Hammadi stressed that the "Kafa'at" program launched by the Social Services Department comes within the department's efforts within the framework of social responsibility, with the aim of supporting universities in training students, providing them with professional and cognitive skills, and transforming theoretical knowledge into practical practice, in addition to enhancing their understanding of the challenges of field work. The program provides students with the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in their academic institutions through field training programs that cover a wide range of the department's specializations and programs, such as administrative and financial sciences, physical therapy, social and human specializations, computer science and information systems, media and public relations, and others. Al Hammadi explained that during the academic year 2023-2024, the department trained about 108 male and female students from various universities, including students from the Higher Colleges of Technology, where the number of training hours spent by trainees ranged from 40 to more than 330 training hours, depending on the requirements of the universities to complete the training hours required for graduation.
