The Department of Social Services in Sharjah, at its headquarters, honored the winners of the Holy Qur’an Competition in its fourth session, for its members from all groups that benefit from its services, namely the elderly, the disabled, disabled women, and children. The competition was launched with the aim of encouraging them to continue memorizing the Holy Qur’an because of its importance. Worldly and hereafter benefits. The honoring ceremony was witnessed by Ahmed Al-Mail, Director of the Social Services Department, who in turn honored the winners, supervisors and members of the jury in the competition, where the number of applicants for the award reached 90, of whom 14 participants won, distributed among the competition categories, and their ages ranged from six to over 60 years, as the competition was divided To 5 categories, which are the 60-year-old group and above: from Surat Al-Fajr to Surat Al-Nas, the 40-59 year old group, the complete part of Amma, the 20-39 year old group, the complete part of Tabarak, and the 13-19 year old category, from Surat Al-Mulk, Surat Al-Qalam, Surat Al-Naba’, and Surat Al-Nazi’at. . Finally, the 6-12 year old category, from Surat Al-Ala to Surat Al-Nas. The jury was formed from a team from the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet, which was responsible for judging the competition. According to Fatima Al-Mazmi, Director of the Department of Institutional Performance at the Department, the award has become one of the important occasions that everyone awaits, and over successive years we have noticed an increase in the number of participants. The Department is also keen to organize this competition because of its privacy and spirituality, as it was announced in January 2024. Al-Mazmi appreciated the cooperation between the Department and the Sharjah Foundation for the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet, for their role in judging the competition, their support and encouragement of the participants, and their continued cooperation with the Department.
