The Department of Social Services in Sharjah, represented by the Department of Social Aid, announced the establishment of training programs targeting beneficiaries of the category of people with disabilities and their families during the period from 8 to 18 July this year, at the level of the city of Sharjah and the Eastern and Central Region. Alia Al Zaabi, Director of the Department of Social Assistance at the Department, stated that these programs aim to support people with disabilities by helping them provide careers for them after undergoing various technical training courses and workshops, for those with minor disabilities who are willing and able to work. Al Zaabi added that these programs seek to enhance the skills and abilities of participants, which contributes to their greater integration into society and improves their quality of life. This initiative comes within a series of activities and programs implemented by the Department of Social Services to ensure the provision of comprehensive support to people with disabilities and their families, which enhances the Department’s efforts to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development in society in general and this group in particular. Participants will undergo courses in photography, editing, website management, social media, etc. She stated that the training workshop, which will be held at the department’s headquarters and its branches, is being implemented in coordination with the “Fan” Foundation to provide workshops on “basics of photography” for participants with disabilities, who are 18 years old and above.
