Education is one of the basic human rights that the United Arab Emirates was keen to achieve through the “Wadeema” Child Rights Law, which states: “Every child has the right to education, and the state works to achieve equal opportunities available among all children in accordance with applicable laws.” Based on this principle, the Department of Social Services in Sharjah seeks, through the Social Welfare Home for Children, to provide all rights to its members, including the right to education by registering children in schools, monitoring their academic achievement, and working to overcome obstacles to bring them to the highest levels of benefit. Every year, the Social Welfare Home for Children celebrates the achievements of its children who are members of the home, who prove that they are able to achieve their goals. Graduation from school represents an important step in the life of any student, especially the home’s members, as it expresses their ability to adapt and excel despite the circumstances they face. With the end of the academic year 2023-2024, two of the school’s employees graduated from high school with a percentage of 98%. On this occasion, the school celebrated the success and graduation of the members and invited the employees working at the house, in the presence of all the members, to participate in the celebration. Hanan Al-Khayal, Director of the Social Welfare Home for Children, said: Every year we celebrate the achievements of our children who prove to us that they are up to the challenge and bear responsibility and that they reflect the strength of will and determination to succeed through their academic achievements. She added, as a future plan for these graduates, one of them will join the National Service and the other at the University of Sharjah to complete their educational journey and experience university life. It is not possible to talk about these achievements without praising the efforts of the workers at the home, as they devote their time and effort to caring for children by providing psychological, social and educational support, which contributes to building... Their personalities and future directions.
