The Sharjah Charitable Society organized a group iftar for nursing home members, in cooperation with the Department of Social Services, as part of the celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on Ramadan 19 every year. The breakfast was attended by Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Member of the Association’s Board of Directors, and Abdullah Saif Bin Hindi, Head of the Corporate Services Sector, along with a number of officials. The iftar aimed to bring joy, draw happiness on the faces of the elderly, and enhance the values of community cohesion. Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi said that the initiative came to coincide with the celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day in commemoration of the noble principles instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, the importance of giving and humanitarian work, and it is an occasion through which we remember his exploits, may God have mercy on him. He added: "We were keen to celebrate with the fathers and grandfathers who devoted their lives serving society, to emphasize the efforts they made in the prime of their youth to serve their country, and for this initiative to be a tribute and a message of gratitude for what senior citizens have provided."
