The Department of Social Services in Sharjah organized; In cooperation with the Emirates Society for Strategic Planning and Future Foresight, the “Strategic Planning for Public Benefit Societies in Sharjah” workshop was held at the Centro Sharjah Hotel. The workshop comes within the framework of a series of training courses and workshops organized by the department to transfer knowledge among public benefit associations. The workshop, which was presented by Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Society for Strategic Planning and Future Foresight, touched on: A number of topics represented in the importance of strategic planning for public benefit associations, in addition to how to strategic plan and implement. The workshop also touched on the components of the strategy, as well as the inputs of the strategic plan, the leadership directions of the Emirate of Sharjah, and the basic principles of the planning process, as well as introducing the concept of anticipating the future, and scientific methods. To anticipate the future in public benefit associations, and to compare strategic planning and anticipating the future. During the meeting, Major General Al Obaidli presented his experience in planning for the Emirates Intellectual Property Association, and the achievements achieved by the Association at the local, regional and international levels as a result of strategic planning and anticipating the future, as it participated with working papers in forums, seminars and exhibitions, and provided training courses for more than 17 thousand trainees, and contributed to Improving the country's global ranking in the field of intellectual property, and playing a role in reviewing and developing intellectual property legislation, participating in regional and international forums related to intellectual property, as well as signing more than 60 memorandums of understanding. Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidli said that the workshop contributes to consolidating strategic planning as a culture and practice in public benefit associations, so that associations are able to achieve the vision of the UAE and employ effective strategic tools to overcome the challenges facing association members. He stressed that the leadership directions of the Emirate of Sharjah, which reflect the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, constitute various dimensions in important sectors, which reflects the importance of strategic planning in those sectors. , represented in the educational, family, community, religious, health, economic, environmental, cultural and sports aspects, in light of the presence of more than 40 public benefit associations that focus on these aspects. Pointing out the importance of strategic planning to push the wheel of development forward, and to continue the progress of public benefit associations through a clear framework of work, organizing priorities, translating the vision of the leadership directions of the Emirate of Sharjah, and achieving development goals. He pointed out that the Emirates Strategic Planning Association has various roles in spreading the culture of strategic planning, and providing support in the areas of achieving the UAE’s vision, as the association is an accredited body for the excellence system, as well as measuring strategic maturity and providing support in the field of readiness for the future. Developing Social Work In turn, Kholoud Al Nuaimi, Director of the Social Work Licensing and Development Department at the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, stressed the importance of strengthening the department’s efforts towards developing and organizing the work of associations and civil institutions in the emirate, appreciating the cooperation of the Emirates Society for Strategic Planning and Future Foresight in holding this workshop. She explained that these efforts come within the framework of providing a series of training courses and workshops organized by the department with the aim of transferring knowledge and developing capabilities in the field of social services and promoting the work of associations and civil institutions of public benefit at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah. Al Nuaimi indicated that the Department of Social Services will hold many workshops and specialized lectures that aim to develop the skills of those in charge of the affairs of associations and civil institutions. Associations will also be able to enhance their capabilities and perform their role more effectively in achieving their goals through these workshops. She stated that the department is authorized to regulate the affairs of these associations in the emirate, through licenses that will be granted by the Social Work Licensing and Development Department to allow the practice of social activities, with the aim of strengthening the procedures for regulating private work in the Emirate of Sharjah, improving the quality of social services, and enhancing partnership and integration between the various parties in the social sector.
