The Sharjah Volunteer Center participated in the Youth Forum, which was organized by the Bahrain Society for Voluntary Work, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the slogan "Volunteer Spring", in which institutions concerned with volunteering from the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, Morocco, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia participated in the period 3- March 5th. The UAE delegation was headed by Sandia Abdul Rahman Ali, Head of the Volunteering Department, and the membership of Hamad Al Yasi, Mira Al Hammadi and Youssef Al Abdouli, the center’s affiliates. The values of voluntary work among the people of the Arab Gulf states, through educational, field, educational and voluntary programs within the framework of the concepts and traditions of our true Islamic religion, which refine the skills of young people and develop them for the benefit and good of them. The objectives of the forum are to raise the level of Gulf youth in various disciplines, and the delegation reviewed the pioneering experience of the Emirate of Sharjah in volunteering through the Sharjah Volunteer Center, and the services it provides. In the field of volunteering, as Sharjah was the only participant in the forum to provide this service, which constitutes a database for the number of volunteers, volunteer hours and volunteer participation for each volunteer registered in the center. On the other hand, the delegation participated in the social service program, which revolved around leadership, teamwork, and other values related to volunteering. This is in addition to visiting some places in the Kingdom of Bahrain, such as the exhibition of productive families and learning about the method of weaving natural silk. Members of the delegation participated in maintenance programs and painted houses, planted agricultural seedlings, and distributed meals to workers at construction sites. In conclusion, the delegation was honored in a closing ceremony for its participation in volunteer work. The delegation also hoped that Sharjah would host such forums to strengthen relations with volunteers in the Gulf and Arab countries.
