The Department of Social Services launched its second campaign for the "Joy Initiative" through commercial centers, to enhance volunteer opportunities for children for social solidarity; The initiative started its activities at the Sahara Center, located in Sharjah, over a period of three days, starting from the 15th to the 17th of this March. The “Joy Initiative” aims at orphans and low-income children who benefit from the services of the department, as well as children from families with limited income, by making them happy by obtaining new clothes for Eid similar to other children, as well as strengthening the principles of compassion and social communication among members of society. Maryam Al Shamsi, responsible for the initiative and director of the department's branch in Al Hamriya, said: The aim of targeting commercial centers for the purpose of increasing the awareness of individuals, especially children, of the importance of social responsibility and enhancing aspects of volunteer work and mutual cooperation, as well as instilling a spirit of giving in community members, whether they are adults or children, and it is considered that commercial centers are the most appropriate places to attract this segment of society, where We decided on weekends due to the heavy demand from various individuals for the commercial centers. Al Shamsi expressed her thanks and appreciation to Sahara Center for its permanent cooperation, as well as allocating a special corner to display the initiative's effectiveness over a period of three days, appreciating the community role that Sahara Center is keen on, as well as the various commercial centers in the country. Note that the initiative was launched at its fifth session; And a new look through the allocation of an awareness bus bearing the campaign slogan, which roams government institutions, private entities, commercial centers and various residential areas at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah, with the aim of helping more than 1500 children through 3 thousand boxes.
