To mark the 54th UAE National Day, the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work, part of the Department of Social Services, launched its community initiative, “Together We Raise the UAE Flag – Volunteering for Our Community,” across the Emirate of Sharjah. The initiative targets employees of government and semi-government entities within the framework of national participation and community service. The launch took place at Al Suyoh Family Park, aiming to strengthen national pride and align with the Sharjah government's vision of supporting the community and fostering a culture of institutional volunteering among employees of departments and authorities. Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department, emphasized that the initiative aims to engage employees in volunteer activities that embody the values ​​of loyalty and belonging, reflecting the honorable image of Sharjah government employees in serving the nation and community. She added that “Together We Raise the UAE Flag” provides a national platform through which employees can contribute to spreading pride in the flag, highlighting their vital role in supporting national identity, and enhancing positive community engagement. Al Hammadi explained that the initiative involves employees affixing National Day logos to the vehicles of community members at a number of pre-determined locations, including: • O06 Mall parking lot • Sharjah Cooperative Society parking lot at all its branches • Aljada area • Al Rahmaniya Mall and Al Suyoh parking lot • Parking lot of service providers and agencies that experience high foot traffic. She indicated that the initiative reinforces the presence of government employees as partners in promoting national identity on the ground, and activates their role in promoting national symbols in a sophisticated and organized manner, while allowing each entity the opportunity to participate with a suitable number of its employees. She concluded by affirming that the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work will continue to launch innovative initiatives that contribute to strengthening community work and support national values ​​among both employees and institutions.
