A delegation from the Sharjah Social Services Department visited the headquarters of the Anti-Narcotics Department at the Sharjah Police General Command, as part of the institutional community cooperation between the department and community and correctional institutions. The visit aims to coordinate and cooperate between the two parties, especially with regard to granting assistance to the families of drug addicts or recovering addicts, which is subject to standards and conditions agreed upon by both parties. The two sides discussed ways to develop the submission of applications and ensure the assistance provided by the department to this category and transfer it to the electronic system, so that all data about the case of the beneficiary of social assistance is included. This is done on the following conditions: if the addict recovers from his addiction, financial assistance is given to him, and if he continues to use it and does not recover, social assistance is transferred to his family. This is done under the supervision of the Anti-Narcotics Department. The meeting was attended by Alia Obaid Al Zaabi, Director of the Social Assistance Department at the Department, Maha Al Ali, Director of the Empowerment Department at the Department, and department heads. They were received by Colonel Majid Al Asam Al Suwaidi, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, and his deputy, Colonel Ahmed Mohammed bin Rabia, Colonel Sultan Al Azal, and Lieutenant Colonel Salem Al Mazrouei. It is worth noting that the two parties agreed to hold further meetings to coordinate on what serves the community and its members.
